Despite a call for greater transparency when it comes to both external and internal communications, certain information is best kept secret. While we advocate for open and honest employee communications, especially when it comes to the deskless workforce, it is doubtful that business leaders leaders want their employees to know every piece of company information.

Some of the aforementioned areas that organizations may want to keep quiet on include:

  • New product updates
  • Financial metrics
  • Companies the organization is about to acquire

At the end of the day, workers both want and need easy access to company information that influence their day-to-day job activities. It’s important to give employees enough information so that they’re successful in their jobs, without posing risks to the business.
